AFTER HOURS / PRIVACY
Your email, your choice.

Who we are
Queer Ear is a community group. Its organisers are responsible for your personal information (the data controllers). Contact us at thequeerearldn@gmail.com.
What we collect
We save your email address, sign-up date, an internal subscriber ID and the version of the sign-up wording you agreed to. We keep a delivery-status record for your confirmation. Hosting and email providers may also process IP addresses, device details, security logs and email delivery information. Host sign-in uses account details to restrict access to the list. You don’t need an account to join.
How we use it
By choosing “Notify me”, you consent to a sign-up confirmation and emails about the first After Hours night, including its details and ticket announcement. Our lawful basis for the notify list is your consent. We rely on our legitimate interests to keep the service secure and record email delivery.
Your email is needed to join this list. It doesn’t book a ticket, reserve a place, subscribe you to later After Hours events or add you to the album-club mailing list. We don’t ask for your sexual orientation or use automated decision-making to decide who can attend.
Who processes your details
Authorised organisers can access the list through the protected host desk. OpenAI provides website hosting and database services through its providers, including Cloudflare. Resend sends confirmation and event emails from hello@thequeerear.com and processes the recipient address, message and delivery information. Replies, questions and privacy requests go to thequeerearldn@gmail.com through Gmail, provided by Google. We don’t sell your details or publish the list.
Where information is processed
This service is not restricted to UK-only storage. Our providers may process information outside the UK, including in the US. OpenAI’s data-processing agreement includes EU Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum. Resend and Google describe their international-transfer safeguards in their data-protection terms. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
How long we keep it
We keep this list while preparing the first night. We’ll remove you from the active list if you unsubscribe and delete the first-night list and associated confirmation-status records after the event and any related questions are dealt with. If the event is cancelled, we review and delete the list after cancellation updates and questions are dealt with. Provider backups, security logs and email-delivery records may remain for the providers’ retention periods.
Your choices and rights
To withdraw consent or ask us to remove you, reply to an email or email thequeerearldn@gmail.com. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect earlier lawful processing. You can also ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests, where the relevant right applies. We may need to verify your identity.
If you have a concern, contact us. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and updates
We haven’t added advertising trackers or analytics tools. Hosting and host sign-in may use technical storage needed to provide and secure the service. We’ll update this notice if we change how we use your information.
